CONCESSIONS CLEANING ... The annual cleaning o' the concessions needs to be rescheduled to SATURDAY, AUGUST 7th because the football scrimmage has been brought back to SMHS and will be played on Friday, August 13 at 7:30.  We need to have the concessions cleaned up and ready to open for business that night.  Yes, it's a little bit of a scramble, but it means MORE CASH in the band's coffers, and we need all the cash we can get!  So watch this space and emails for revised date and plan to come help.  Contact KenBlack@SMHSBand.org if you can help.

BAND FAMILY PICNIC ... The annual Band Family Picnic is this Friday, July 30th, at 6:00 pm.  This is open to ALL BAND FAMILIES ... not just marchers. It's a chance to get to know each other, share a little booster business, and then cap off the evening with a sneak preview of this year's show.  Bring your whole family!  We hope to see you there!

We need two (2) parents at every rehearsal.
We have a couple more slots for the first week, and then all sorts of space for week #2
.

Please note that week #2 is a somewhat irregular schedule, but the shifts are set so that the morning percussion and auxiliary rehearsals at school are covered, as well as the late afternoon Brass/WW rehearsals.  Your chaperone chairs may see fit to reduce the staffing if they feel it's warranted.  But please sign up for next week anyway!  We need to be prepared! 


Important Announcements

SNACKS FOR BAND CAMP NEEDED ... Percussion parents:  We would appreciate it if some of the percussion parents could come forth and provide meals (2 ea) for the instructors, fruit, and treats for their students (about 15) for the week of August 2nd thru August 6th.

To donate, please contact email KarenMcEachern@SMHSBand.org and she can give you the details on quantity and how to package them for easy distribution.  THANK YOU!

FOOTBALL PROGRAM ADS ... If anyone is interested in placing an ad in the 2010 Panther Football Program, CLICK HERE for the form for all the information.  These are due by JULY 30th ... so ACT NOW!  Questions?  Call Mrs. Jana Lord of the SMHS Cheerleader Booster Club at 678-978-5783.

CONCESSIONS CLEAN-UP... The annual cleaning o' the concessions will be  FRIDAY, AUGUST 7 at 9AM until..... I will supply Chick-fil-A biscuits and coffee again this year! We need a high powered pressure washer and shop-vac, along with cleaning materials. We will divide into 2 teams - one at the home stand and one at the visitors side. Email KenBlack@SMHSBand.org with questions or to volunteer your equipment.
 
Also ... The SMHS Band Boosters would like to thank David Young for the use of a golf cart donated for our use at band camp and concessions while our band cart is being repaired!! He also gave the band a 3-burner coffee station with hot water tap which he will install in the home concession stand!! Thanks David!!
